In November 2010, Keith Olstad (PML Board member) spent a week in León, Nicaragua visiting Project Minnesota/León's coordinator, Sarah Shelton, and three of PML's projects: San Carlos Health Center, Gotitas de Esperanza, and Xuchialt Art Workshop. He stayed with families and studied at Dariana Language School.

Keith also spent three days in November 2010 with friends in the Miraflor preserve north of Estelí, Nicaragua. The stunning beauty of the place belies the difficulties being experienced in the cooperative there and the loss of crops due to unseasonably heavy winter rains.
